Apparently not all superstars are above the law. Pulled over and arrested for a DUI on December 31st, 2008, retired NBA great and sportscaster Charles Barkley pled guilty to charges just this past week.

On the evening of his arrest Barkley ran a stop sign and was pulled over. Officers detected alcohol on his breath and proceeded to give him a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer. Barkley’s BAC was found to be .149%.

The legal limit it .08% in Arizona, so at .149 Barkley was nearly twice the legal limit. He was arrested and charged with DUI, a Class 1 Misdemeanor. read more

When Arizona officials began cracking down on meth labs early in the 2000s operations moved south to Mexico. Mexican officials are taking their turn and also beginning to crack down themselves. This likely means labs will begin to creep back into our state.

According to this article in the Arizona Republic Attorney General Terry Goddard is already seeing an increase. What has changed this time around, however, is who is behind the labs. Labs that were once ran by small time Arizona dealers are now going to be connected in the complex web of violent Mexican drug trafficking rings.

An investigator with the Maricopa County Sherriff admits that these labs are still in homes but now they are much larger and more complex. The problem with increased labs and larger operations is a huge increase in the cost of fighting them. read more
